Nystagmus Blocking Syndrome

Nystagmus blocking syndrome is a type of congenital esotropia with features of early onset, large angle and nystagmus on attempted abduction. The characteristics of this syndrome are discussed together with two case histories. Management usually entails occlusion and surgery. Surgery is generally less predictable tan in the uncomplicated congenital esotrope.
